About Union Printing
The passion of a 17th century colonial printer with the technology of today!
Ben Franklin used hand presses to change the course of history with printing. Rocco has the same passion for printing and will change the way you get your printed communications to your customers.
Rocco's passion for ink on paper started in high school where he learned the art of printing with the school newspaper. In 1971, he followed his talent by becoming a pressman in the letter press department of Brew Printing Company in Stratford. After moving to Esscles-Lehman Inc. in Bridgeport for a short run, Rocco returned to Brew Printing for three years. It was time to become an owner. In the early 80s, "Bullet Printing" was born from Rocco's sweat and dreams. Three successful years later, he sold the business to invest in real estate, a career move which proved quite lucrative.
But Rocco had ink in his veins. He launched Master Engraving & Printery in 1987, bringing rapid expansion with a series of acquisitions - Waterbury Printing in 1996, Royal Graphics of Ansonia in 2005 and topping it off by buying his former employer, Brew Printing Company in Stratford in 2006. From there, Rocco combined them all and Corso Printing was born. In 2015 Rocco decided to retire and sell Corso Printing. In late 2018, Rocco realized that the ink that flows through his veins was still there and started a new printing adventure called Union Printing Inc.
Early on, Rocco learned that how you treat the customer is why they keep coming back. He found the formula to combine great pricing and fast turnaround with quality. Then he wrapped it in great customer service. The formula works. Rocco had to keep ahead of internet pricing with better turnaround and value-added services you won't get from a website. He continues to listen to his customers by adding state of the art equipment as needed. The latest press is the short run book printer which allows a customer to actually print a quantity of one or a 1000! Union Printing Inc. will always be on the cutting edge of technology to serve the New England market.
But the success of a company doesn't stop there. You have to serve the community you do business in.
So Rocco makes sure to give back.
Community activities for Rocco include serving on the boards of the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce and the Waterbury Rotary Club. Rocco has served on the boards of the Naugatuck Red Cross, the YMCA and was active for 7 years with The United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls. As a past member of the Exchange Club, he ran four Gold Medal dinners. He presently holds memberships in the Elks Club and the UNIAO Portuguese Club. In 2006, Rocco chaired Naugatuck's First Annual Duck Race and held that position for over 10 years. It is a huge and successful event. The Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce named Rocco the recipient of the 2006 Lewis Dibble Award. Rocco was also named the Naugatuck Exchange Club's 2016 Citizen of the Year.
